This is the first ripe strawberry to come out of my garden this year. Pretty soon I plan to have dozens. I planted a shitload of strawberries this year. It is only a matter of time before my army of succulent strawberries are ready to take over the world. Or…. get turned into jam and pies. Whichever.
My sister came home over the weekend. While she was visiting, she bought me a few things for my birthday. She’s a few weeks late but it’s all good. I’m not going to hold a grudge. Nope. I’m just going to play this new Resident Evil game and snack on candy. Sweet, sweet candy.

My beautiful Fiance has gone and injured her hand. She had an accident with a slippery wine glass that resulted in a break and slice of her hand. Despite the fact that the injury involved a wine glass, Lauren was sober when she incurred her injury. However, it was a total bummer because she had just taken an bath and was all ready to go to bed… At least, that’s what she thought. Unfortunately for her, instead of getting under the warm covers, we jumped in the car and drove to the emergency room where she would be getting stitches for the first time in her life. She was a trooper though. The doctor stitched her up good and according to the nurse on duty, we were the second alcohol-related incident of the night… Even though Lauren had told her that she was not intoxicated. haha. So yea… Lauren has three new stitches.
The garden is coming along rather nicely; even during this drought that we’re currently experiencing in northern Indiana. I’ve had to resort to watering in the evenings due to the severe lack of rain. My herbs have been doing exceptionally well. The basil, oregano, and thyme are doing great. However, my spinach is not doing so hot. Despite the watering it just doesn’t seem to like this dry weather. Boooooo. I’m hoping that we’ll be getting some rain soon because I have been wanting to have a few bonfires and this burn ban is really bumming me out.
